Your privacy

Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Jott.it handles when you use the Windows app, visit this website, or contact us.

Last updated: 29 July 2026

Summary

Your journal belongs to you. Jott.it is designed to store journal content locally on your device. We do not receive, store, or read the notes and tasks you create in the app.

This policy applies to the Jott.it Windows desktop app and the website at jott.it.com. “Jott.it”, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to the operator of Jott.it.

Information handled by the desktop app

Journal content

Tasks, notes, events, memories, habits, metadata, and other journal content are stored in files on your device. Jott.it does not send this content to our servers.

Local settings

The app may store preferences and configuration information locally so it can remember how you use it. These settings remain on your device unless you choose to copy or share them.

No Jott.it account

The current early-access version does not require a Jott.it account. It does not include cloud journal storage, advertising, or behavioural analytics.

You are responsible for securing and backing up files stored on your device. Removing the app may not remove journal files saved separately in a directory you selected.

When you visit the website, the hosting provider may process standard request information such as your IP address, browser type, requested page, date and time, and basic security logs. This information is used to deliver and protect the site.

The website currently loads fonts from Google Fonts. When those files load, your browser connects to Google and may disclose technical information such as your IP address and browser details. Google handles that information under its own privacy terms.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures for the limited information we do handle.
